Idris, a brave young boy battling congenital heart disease, dreams of becoming a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) operator. Thanks to the team at Make-A-Wish Illinois, Idris and his family experienced a day operating a CTA railcar, which was recently reported by ABC 7 Chicago.
CRRC reached out to Make-A-Wish Illinois to see if we could offer another unique experience for Idris right here in Chicago. Idris and his family joined CRRC for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of how CTA’s 7000 Series railcars are built.
The joy on Idris’s face as he explored the facility was indescribable. It was a morning filled with smiles, laughter and hope—not just for Idris and his brothers but for all involved.
It was a collaborative effort but one that was well worth it!
