On March 16, 2017, CRRC Sifang America broke ground on a $100 million, state-of- the-art railcar assembly plant in Chicago’s southeast side.
CRRC Sifang America is a subsidiary of the world’s largest railroad car and locomotive manufacturer and its Chicago facility is its primary production hub in North America.
In the years since the groundbreaking, CRRC has hired employees from the local community, put 7000 Series railcars on the tracks in Chicago for Chicagoans and visitors alike to enjoy and most importantly CRRC has been a good neighbor supporting community organizations.
