On December 8, 2017, Calumet Area Industrial Commission (CAIC) presented CRRC with the Kenneth L. Brace Memorial Award. The award was accepted by Mr. Liu and Kevin Qu of CRRC at CAIC’s 50th Annual Luncheon.

The award recognized CRRC’s $100 million investment in building their new CTA railcar manufacturing facility. Such investment enhances the competitiveness and overall marketability of the greater Calumet industrial area.

About the Award

The Kenneth Brace Memorial Award is named after CAIC’s first Executive Director, Kenneth Brace. The award recipients are selected by the Board and membership committee. The recipient(s) can be a company that has demonstrated excellence in its industry, released a new product or service, invested in its business located in the Calumet Area, and/or shown support for the CAIC. Also, the recipient(s) can be an employee or a company who has participated in the activities, events and/or supported the goals and objectives of the CAIC. Furthermore, it can be an organization that the CAIC has partnered with to allow for the accomplishment of strategic goals.
